Prerequisite for this aromatherapy course is the successful completion of the Aromatherapy 101 home study course.

The Aromatherapy 201 Course builds on the knowledge already gained in the Aromatherapy 101 Course. These aromatherapy home study courses combined will give the student all the necessary tools to practice Aromatherapy in a professional setting, with the advantage of being able to study at home on your own schedule. You will be guided toward a professional understanding of a wide range of essential oils, carrier oils, blending and therapeutic use of aromatherapy oils. This course is intended for those who are interested in practicing aromatherapy.

On the successful completion of the optional Aromatherapy 201 exam, the student will receive a Certificate certifying that they have successfully completed the aromatherapy course of study (440 hours) and the written examination as required by this institute and is recognized as an Aromatherapist. Graduates of both courses are eligible to join the British Columbia Alliance of Aromatherapists. The British Columbia Alliance of Aromatherapists has been granted occupational title designation under the Society Act of British Columbia. This grants its members the right to use the Title Registered Aromatherapist and the Initials R.A.

Our programs more than meet the requirements of a number of Associations and graduates of both courses are also eligible to join the following Associations as Professional Members.  In Canada: BCAOA (British Columbia Alliance Of Aromatherapists); BCAPA (British Columbia Association of Practicing Aromatherapists); CFA (Canadian Federation of Aromatherapists) based mostly in Ontario although they have members across Canada. Aromatherapy 201 Course Workbook
The aromatherapy 201 course workbook consists of over 260 pages divided into forty detailed lessons designed to take you step by step through the aromatherapy course notes and fully understand them.

Time Line and Exam Requirements.
There is a time line of 18 months within which to complete the course and request the exam. This is a closed book, 100 multiple choice question, exam and comes with a Proctor Form. In addition to the exam, there is the requirement of an 8 – 10 page research paper, on the topic of your own choosing, plus 30 case studies/client consultations. A Certificate will be issued on the successful completion of the exam, research paper and case studies.

Please note: It is our belief that Massage can only be learned in a classroom situation. As this is a Home Study Aromatherapy Course this is not possible. Anyone wishing to incorporate Massage into their practice of Aromatherapy is advised to personally attend a massage course in their local area or take one of the massage options offered by the West Coast Institute of Aromatherapy i.e.  3 day intensive or the Aroma Massage DVD.

3 day Massage Intensive Course
A 3 day in class intensive program during which the massage routine outlined in the Aromatherapy 201 course is taught. This course will benefit anyone who would like to include bodywork into their practice of aromatherapy. The schedule for these courses are more flexible and are arranged to suit both the school’s and the student’s schedule. Pre-requisite for this course is that the student is enrolled in or has completed Aromatherapy 201.Student will receive a Certificate of Attendance and 21 Continuing Education hours.  $375.00 CDN plus HST
