Beverley Hawkins

Beverley Hawkins (previously von Marksfeld-Fuhrherr), Essential Oil Therapist – EOT®, Registered Aromatherapist – RA®, CAHP, NCTMB, Di.SPE., BFRP, began her holistic journey as the daughter of a naturopath/chiropractor in her native South Africa. Having helped her father in his wellness business for many years she developed an appreciation for the concept of holistic care and has never looked back!

Beverley has a thorough understanding of what makes people “tick” and she encourages and guides her students down their path of learning. Beverley has many years experience as an alternative health care professional. She is a Registered Aromatherapist, massage therapist, reflexologist, Reiki master, Bach Flower Registered Practitioner, Reconnective Healing Practitioner, Spiritual PhytoEssencing Practitioner and educator. In addition to teaching she also maintains a private practice. Beverley is a member of a number of Aromatherapy Associations in Canada: BCAPA, BCAOA and CFA; in the USA: AIA and NAHA.  She is also a member of the NHPC in Canada and NCTMB in the USA.

Beverley has taught aromatherapy for many years. She owned an aromatherapy school in Victoria, BC which she sold when she moved with her family to the United States. It was while she was living in the United States and Europe, over an 18 month period, that she came to realize just how many people were interested in essential oils and hungry for more information on their safe use. She realized that while many people were interested in pursuing aromatherapy as a career, there were in fact a lot of other people who were interested in aromatherapy solely for their own use. This observation was instrumental in the format of the new courses that she created on her return to Canada and the West Coast Institute of Aromatherapy was born in April 1999. Aromatherapy 101 is designed to be a wonderful thorough introduction to the use of essential oils in a safe and effective manner and the continuation with Aromatherapy 201 meets the needs of those wishing to make a career in this field.

Beverley is constantly learning and researching information in this field and she is continually updating and revising her course material to ensure that it contains the most up to date information available.
